MENTAL health matters

The Mental Health crisis has increased significantly within the last decade,

Month after month we hear about a crime that has been committed by someone diagnosed with a mental illness, in which many cases involved bodily injury and even death; still the persons of interest can be released due to the inability to stand trial and be released with no record. That needs to change.

My experience as a victim in a Domestic Assault case with a person diagnosed with Schizophrenia-Paranoia/ Bipolar Disorder uncovered the undeniable TRUTH

Police officers are not equipt with the knowledge or resources to help someone in a severe manic episode while in the field.

Starting on Aug.28 I begged for help and help was never given.

For 3 days I witnessed the person that I called friend change before my eyes and refused to get help.

The system failed me, The plan that they have in place for someone like myself do not exist.

That is why it is so important to take a stand for police policy and procedure reform.

Reforming police procedures is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals experiencing mental health crises, as current procedures can be harmful and even fatal.

Police officers are often called to respond to situations involving individuals with mental health issues. However, many police departments are not adequately trained to handle these cases, which can lead to disastrous outcomes. In some cases, individuals experiencing mental health crises are met with aggression and violence, rather than the compassion and assistance they need.

Reforming police procedures involves training officers to recognize and respond appropriately to individuals with mental health issues. This can include deescalation techniques, crisis intervention training, and working with mental health professionals to provide the best possible care. By implementing these changes, we can help ensure that individuals with mental health issues receive the care and support they need, while also keeping both the individuals and the officers involved safe.

Overall, reforming police procedures is an essential step towards creating a safer and more just society for all individuals, regardless of their mental health status. It is up to all of us to advocate for these important changes and work towards a more compassionate and effective approach to policing.

My Life Matter

“If you could rule the world, Tell me how would it be,

Would you become everything your enemies would need

just to laugh in they face to bring them to they knees

when in reality those haters just love what they see

If the ability was yours what would it be?

(Who ME?)

To birth to a child with no worries

they handcuffing our men for they sin

LOCK up in OUR MIND cause the WORLD that we in

Shhoooot

Who made it cool to kill?

Who made it cool to deal?

Hands up and we still giving our lives to them

I am seeing babies hand cuffed, CUT THEM from the stem

BUT your a mommas baby no matter what they film”

“Time heals all but TELL ME WHAT they talkin’ bout,

Money cant buy love but everything we speak about,

Gold chains, diamonds rings, designer everything

FASY car that goes FAR but too

BLIND to switch lanes,

Damaged goods under peer pressure,

he would have loved you if they loved him better,

BLACK skies and Lies you see the fear in they eyes more like harassment

get stopped by COPS now days and getting blasted”
